“There’s really not,” Zach said as he scrunched up his brow. Then he looked over at Isaac and smiled, he felt so smug with him sitting so close. Zach wanted to just swing his legs over and rest them across the boy’s lap, yet he resisted the urge. He nibbled on the cupcake until he came up with an idea. “Let’s cure your boredom!” He exclaimed. “We’re going for an adventure,” he told him as he set the unfinished pastry down on the coffee table with the rest and stood up. He wiped his hands clean from crumbs and held out his hand to help Isaac up from his seat, a small, shy smile painted on his face as he waited for his friend to accept it.

“An… adventure?” Isaac smiled at his friends child-like demeanor and accepted his hand, tossing his cupcake onto the coffee table, “What do you mean?” He couldn’t help but admire how spontaneous Zach could be, it was one of the things he loved about him.

“Difference between you and other people is the fact that I know he loves you, too.” she moved yet another chess piece, accepting his challenge. Who was this kid kidding? She was a nerd and everyone knew book worms were great at chess, not to mention that fact that she used to compete for fun when she was younger. Taking another drink of her coffee, she continued to watch the game play out, biting down on her lip as she watched the pieces slowly being taken from the board. “I have got to words for you, Isaac.” she smirked, gripping her queen, “Check and mate.” she moved it into the winning play and jumped up in the middle of the coffee place, shaking her butt and dancing. “I win.” 

“Wha-?” Isaac looked down at the chess board then up at Skye, he couldn’t help but smile at her enthusiasm, “Fine, fine, you win. I’ll tell him!” he took a large gulp of his coffee and sat back in his chair. Well, that was that, he was going to have to tell Zach. He and Skye made a deal, and he intended to follow through with it, he was a man of his word, after all.
